Watering and draining with cordless pumps: Good for the wallet, good for the environment
“Water is one of the most valuable resources we have – so it’s high time we optimized our own consumption. “More and more garden owners are trying to be sustainable in their consumption of drinking water, which is why they are using rainwater to water the garden. For that they need pumps that can be used flexibly. And that's where battery technology has huge advantages. Up to 150,000 liters of water a year
Why the use of pumps is not only easy on the wallet, but above all good for nature, is evident from the figures: On average, a garden in our latitudes needs between 15 and 25 liters of water per square meter each week. With the average garden being 300 square meters in size, and assuming five months of watering in the year, that equates to a water demand of between 90,000 and 150,000 liters a year. High time, then, to find an efficient way to water the garden!
Einhell offers a broad array of battery-operated pumps for cordless watering and drainage. Just how much power battery-driven water pumps can now output is shown by the new AQUINNA 18/28 and AQUINNA 36/34 cordless garden pumps. “The AQUINNA 18/28 cordless water pump delivers up to 2,800 liters of water an hour and achieves a maximum delivery head of 25 meters, which is equivalent to a delivery pressure of 2.5 bar. Water can be sucked in from a depth of up to six meters,” Patrick Pflegler explains. This eco-friendly solution means, for instance, that rainwater can be drawn from a cistern to water even larger gardens.
“The GE-PP 18 RB Li cordless clear water pump, too, can be used to pump water out of barrels, cisterns or wells, for example, while its high delivery pressure means this water can be used simultaneously to water the garden sustainably. It has a capacity of up to 3,000 liters per hour and achieves a delivery head of up to 20 meters. The advantage is that the pump is ready to use quickly at any time, but doesn’t need to be permanently installed, which is particularly unsightly if the cistern opening is in the middle of the garden,” the Einhell expert adds.
Dirty water submersible pumps are used for pumping out flooded basements or draining trenches and ditches. “They can pick up clumps up to 25 millimeters in size, depending on the model. Our 2-in-1 combination pump allows the water to be extracted right down to 1 millimeter, leaving a surface that can be wiped dry. This can help to prevent extensive damage following a flood. It is in precisely such disaster scenarios that batteries have a clear edge, because the electricity supply has to be turned off due to the risk to life,” Pflegler says.
Einhell also has the perfect solution for garden hoses up to 30 meters long. The GE-HR 18/30 Li cordless hose reel rolls the garden hose up neatly at the press of a button, saving space. The hose reel can be attached to the wall of the house and mounted on a mobile trolley in a matter of moments. Patrick Pflegler: “For more and more people, the garden is their second lounge. And they don’t want to be stumbling over cables or a garden hose that's been left lying around.”
