Winner of another independent consumer test by Stiftung Warentest: Cordless hedge trimmer allrounder Einhell ARCURRA 18/55 rated “good” in test
In its latest independent consumer test of cordless hedge trimmers, Stiftung Warentest awarded “Good” (1.9) as best grade to the Einhell ARCURRA 18/55 from the Power X-Change family, declaring it simultaneously to be “Best in Test”. The product convinced the testers particularly in the categories “Durability” and “Safety”. The test was published on 21st July.
Good all-round performance
15 models of battery-powered hedge trimmers from top manufacturers were tested in the garden and on the test bench by Stiftung Warentest, the German consumer testing laboratory, in good time before the beginning of autumn. The models ranged from standard trimmers for hedges of normal height to trimmers with long handles. All are specialized in trimming hedges as well as low shrubs and ground-cover plants. Six of the ten standard hedge trimmers were rated as “Good”. However, only three of the six models were recommended for radical pruning of thick branches, with the Einhell ARCURRA 18/55 praised above all for its easy handling. “The all-rounder among the cordless hedge trimmers performs well in all respects, is easy to operate, and has a finely balanced and easy-to-remove battery,” was how the testers described the product’s outstanding capabilities.
Of the six cordless hedge trimmers rated as “Good”, the ARCURRA 18/55 from Einhell was one of only two to score 1.9. The Einhell model also received top marks in several of the tested sub-areas: For example, the testers rated each of the test criteria “Durability”, “Safety” and “Harmful Substances” with “Very Good” (1.0). In connection with handling in general, the criteria “Cleaning”, “Storage”, “Maintenance and Care” all received very positive comments. And in terms of handling specifically the battery and the charger, the Einhell model was rated better than all the trimmers in the test.

Einhell played a convincing role already in previous comparison tests carried out by Stiftung Warentest. In edition 11/2020 of its magazine, for example, Stiftung Warentest had already declared the Power X-Change 2.0 Ah battery from Einhell to be the winner of its broad-based battery test. Similarly, the cordless lawn mower GE-CM 36/36 was declared “Best in Test” by Stiftung Warentest in its 04/2021 edition.
